At Evergreen Events and Design, we have an undeniable passion for themed weddings, especially when they are executed flawlessly. Elise and Russell’s wedding at The Gathering Place in Pinetop, AZ was a shining example of just that! Their love story began amidst the serene California campgrounds, where they first met as counselors, and it was only fitting that their shared love for the outdoors inspired a charming camp-themed celebration.

Elise and Russell are blessed with a big community (many camp counselor alums) and it was a joy to see them all gathered together again for the festivities. Though Arizona may be known for it’s heat, we were granted a sweet surprise of snowfall in April, creating a picturesque backdrop for their nuptials. The sun peaked out around mid-afternoon, in perfect timing for guests arrival. With her six closest friends escorting her, Elise made a stunning entrance through handmade wooden doors, a heartfelt gift from her father. Her unique True Society Wedding dress complemented the natural beauty of the setting as she walked down the snow-covered aisle in bridal sneakers, eyes fixed on her groom.

Underneath the towering ponderosa pines and a branched arch adorned with stunning Wildblume Florals, the couple exchanged vows in front of their loved ones. Joyous cheers filled the air as guests waved camp pennant flags during their walk down the aisle as newlyweds.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a cocktail hour featuring His and Her signature cocktails crafted by Kel2 Bartending, alongside a table long charcuterie board. Meanwhile, the Evergreen team meticulously prepared the reception space, where each detail—from blush pink table runners to vibrant daisies and garden roses in sweet bud vases—reflected the couple’s vision. Tables were cleverly marked with “campsite markers,” and a custom seating chart, designed by the groom, featured room keys that doubled as thoughtful favors for each guest.

In a memorable grand entrance, Elise and Russell playfully recreated the famous handshake from The Parent. The night concluded with a sparkling sparkler send-off as the newlyweds departed into the crisp night air.
